MARIE FLECHE MEMORIAL LIBRARY SUMMER READING PROGRAM
The Marie Fleche Memorial Library’s Summer Reading Program is open to all children between the ages of 3 and 14 from Berlin. It will start on Monday, June 23 and continue to August 4, 2008. To become a member, simply register at the library and agree to read one book or more each week. In your booklet, keep a list of the books read each week, have a parent initial the entries and present it to the librarian by the end of each week. You will then be entered into a weekly drawing to win a prize. It is important that elementary children select their own books and read on their own.
The children who take part in the Summer Reading Program will be awarded a certificate at the end of the six weeks indicating they have successfully completed the program. The theme of the Summer Reading Program for 2008 is “Catch the Reading Bug!” Sign up beginning June 16th.
On Tuesday, August 12 at 1:00 P.M. the library staff will host a party with refreshments and prizes for the participants. To be eligible for the party the reading record booklet must be initialed at least 3 times during the summer. Booklets are to be turned in for the final time by August 9.
